This is a vintage Swedish milk tray. It contains the original paint. Found in Provence.
The wood is worn in areas and it may contain worm holes. Please note one of the knots is missing around the rim of the tray as you can see in the last photo. There is a crack in the bowl as you can see in the image of the bowl against the wall.
